PBBA Bulls Score Big at Winston-Salem PBR

Lyman, SC February 1, 2009----WW Bucking Bulls’, owned by Rick Wagoner and Jimmy Walton, Code Blue ended the 2008 PBBA season as a top five money winner.  When the PBR’s Cody Lambert was looking for bulls for the Winston-Salem PBR he had heard that Code Blue was rank and a PBR quality bull. After consulting the PBBA website, reviewing Code Blue’s PBBA ranking, carefully looking over his PBBA scores, and talking to some PBBA members; Cody decided to give Code Blue and WW Bucking Bulls a chance at the PBR.

In the first round of the PBR Cody Campbell had his hands full with the big bull; Code Bull.  After a couple of big jumps and kicks, Code Blue’s trademark, Campbell found himself in the arena dirt. The PBR judges were impressed and marked Code Blue 45.25; the third highest bull score for the night.  Saturday night Cody Blue drew the PBR great, Jared Farley.  Like Campbell, Farley soon had a face full of dirt.  The judges were even more impressed with Code Blue’s performance, marking him 46.0 points, round two’s highest score.  Code Blue ended the night as the second highest marked bull at the Winston-Salem PBR.  Congratulations to Rick Wagoner and Jimmy Walton, of WW Bucking Bulls, and PBBA Board members.

PBBA 2008 Finals Champion Top Notch Jap, owned by Joey Nixon, was also chosen for the Winston-Salem PBR. Top Notch Jap, threw both his riders and scored 44.25 each night. The PBBA’s number two bull for 2008, Ruby Red, AKA Brother Love, owned by Dell and Donna Elrod, was ridden Friday night by Dusty Elliott for 88 points. Robbie Melton’s bull Stiffler also threw his rider and scored 42.5. The bulls and stock contractors of the PBBA proved have themselves once again.

The PBBA sanctions open bucking bull competitions for bulls of all ages regardless of pedigree.  During 2008 it paid out over $144,000 in total price money.  The PBBA is working on its 2009 schedule and it will be posted on www.pbbanow.com. Agreed it is a bit pre-mature to say he is now or will end the year better than Bones... but they all started somewhere. You never know what will happen and there's nothing wrong with enthusiasm! The bull is still learning and may be just coming into his own. I think this past weekend proved that. Yes, he just MIGHT run off again, but it is not necessarily a certainty that "at some point he will again". Besides, if the rider is coming off over his head, does it really matter which way he goes?

Well CODE BLUE did it again in Florida last weekend! Proved that he CAN hang with the "big boys". He remains un-ridden and recieved a score of 45pts on Friday and 46.5 on Sunday when he threw Ryan Dirteater. HIGHEST SCORING bull at the Tallahassee event!
Way to go CODE BLUE and WW Bucking Bulls!
